We wrote the following about the exhibition: ‘The animal kingdom is a spectacle of beauty, cruelty, respect and natural laws that has been on display every day for millions of years.
A film starring thousands of unwitting actors who move within the magical and immense setting of Africa, according to an unwritten script, but with divine direction.
As with any self-respecting film, the one set in the wild savannah also needs a director of photography.
For many years Paolo Torchio has witnessed the endless repetition of exciting, gory, moving or dramatic scenes that are never identical, both due to the cyclical changeability of the locations and the ability of the protagonists to surprise the eye and heart of the spectator.
In this enchantment of colours, contrasts, situations and fleeting moments, the Italian nature photographer's objective is to coexist with wild nature, to lie in wait, to wait, to prepare himself, to immortalise, and at the right moment to reveal the wonder of each scene, transforming it into a work of art’.
