Kenyans still barred from 40 countries

Rules for kenyan citizens to enter in Italy in 2022

07-01-2022 by redazione

There are still forty nations that do not accept Kenyan citizens on their territory, three more than last October, when the Henley Passport Index, which regularly monitors international identification documents in good standing for travel around the world, released its latest statistics.
In fact, a better result was expected, but the wave of Omicron variant and the subsequent non-closure of Kenya to African countries that are the first carriers of the new type of Covid-19, have certainly influenced the choices of many countries, after that from July to October, coinciding with the start of the vaccination campaign in a continuous manner, especially in Nairobi, the nations that closed to Kenyans had dropped from 54 to 43.
Among the nations that since the beginning of the pandemic do not accept travelers of Kenyan nationality, there are some historically linked by good trade relations with Kenya, such as Israel, Sweden, Bangladesh and Cyprus. But also Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Cambodia, Poland, Czech Republic and Chile. There is also an African nation that excludes the arrival of Kenyans within its borders and in this period constitutes a limitation: this is Cameroon, where in a few days the most important soccer tournament on the continent, the African Cup, will begin. Kenyans, even if they wanted to, could not take part as spectators and there are also problems for the media and specialized press. Another state (because it is a state to all intents and purposes) that Kenyan devotees still cannot access is Vatican City. No pilgrimages and visits to the Sistine Chapel for a while yet, by well-to-do people or congregations from Kenya.
As for Italy, the entry of citizens with Kenyan passports is allowed if they are residents or domiciled in the Schengen area of Europe, or holders of long-term resident status, or are direct relatives of European citizens or residents. But with the order of last October 22, Kenyans who have a proven and stable emotional relationship, even if not cohabiting, with EU citizens can also enter. In addition, athletes, technicians, judges and race commissioners, representatives of the foreign press and accompanying persons at competitive sports competitions recognized as being of pre-eminent national interest are allowed to enter Italy.
If you do not fall into the categories already mentioned, entry into Italy is allowed only for reasons of work, study, health or absolute and proven urgency.
