For the payment of pensions (over 411,000) to eligible residents abroad (in 131 countries), the Social Security uses a contractor bank of a tender which is renewed every three years. The bank in charge of the service work itself through corresponding banks in different areas.
Pensions are paid to residents abroad every month. The amount of pensions lower than a limit set by law are paid every six months as is the case for retirees in Italy. The payment of pensions is usually carried out by crediting the bank account of the pensioner.
The bank in charge of payments has the task to annually verify the existence in life, address and residence of the pensioner.
From February 2012, the payment of pensions abroad has been entrusted to Citibank.
The arrangements agreed between INPS and Citibank to demonstrate the existence in life expect the retiree draws up a "Life in Existence Certification Form" (which will be received by the bank at his home), making signs the form to authenticate the subscription from 'consular Office or by a public official recognized by the legislation of your country of residence and send it to the bank. P.S. At the moment there being no bilateral agreement between the Italian State and Kenya, the pension is taxed at source in Italy and also in accordance with the regulations and existing laws in the state KENYA.
