Seventy days before the national elections, the campaign by the pretenders to the role of Kenya's next president of the Republic and their acolytes is in full swing.
The tours from one end of the country to the other have already begun and the governors of the 47 counties that make up Kenya's geopolitical (and tribal) framework have all sided with Raila Odinga and the Azimio la Umoja ("united resolution") coalition or with William Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza ("precedence for Kenya") alliance. There are few independents but several challenges within individual regions. One of these concerns the position of outgoing Kilifi County governor Amason Kingi and his belated and somewhat destabilizing decision to join Kenya Kwanza (with the promise of an important seat in the next eventual Ruto government) and to channel the votes he would bring to his side.
But the gubernatorial candidate of the UDA, Ruto's party, Aisha Jumwa (like Kingi himself, who spilled over from Odinga's ODM) did not see eye to eye with the deal between Kingi and Ruto...in the video below we explain what is happening in Kilifi County and who are the characters we are talking about.(video is in italian, use youtube automatic translator)
A major blow ahead of national elections next August for the Governor of Kilifi Amason Kingi and his party, the Orange Democratic Movement of opposition leader and challenger of the incumbent president, Raila Odinga.
