Fifty days to go before Kenya's national elections, and the head-to-head contest between the two candidates with the only chances to become president is intensifying with rallies and visits to many of the country's 47 counties. If winning the Mount Kenya regions always appears to be decisive, and the two possible future vice presidents, both of whom are of the most prevalent ethnic group in the nine counties surrounding the country's highest mountain, are hard at work.
While on the one hand the rampant William Ruto is trying to proselytize among the youth and promises to unhinge the strong powers, the so-called "deep state" that has always ruled Kenya, on the other hand "baba" Raila Odinga who has always represented the opposition, the alternative and the hope for the poor people, with his social democratic roots, is asking the people to finally give him a chance, even if it is the one and only chance.
