Kenya, many doctors positive, two died

Percentage around 12, yesterday 1211 new cases

22-11-2020 by redazione

The situation in intensive care in Kenya is under control, the percentage confirms the slightly improving trend, while the doctors' health and resilience are worrying. Yesterday, in the face of 17 new deaths linked to Covid-19, two professionals succumbed to the disease. One of them was the head of the nephrology unit at Kenyatta Hospital. Many others are infected on a daily basis and the union begins to report the fears and anxieties of the category.
Kenya has recorded 1211 new positive cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the country's total since the beginning of the pandemic to 76404. Official deaths have reached 1366.
In intensive care, 67 patients are hospitalised, 36 of whom are under ventilatory support and 31 under supplementary oxygen. A total of 1134 people are hospitalised for Covid-19 in the country's various healthcare facilities, while 6805 are in isolation and receive home care.
A further 368 patients were discharged, 265 of them were followed home as part of the home care programme and 103 were discharged from hospital.
Yesterday 9304 tampons were taken, the percentage remains just over 12.
Of the new cases, 1169 are Kenyan and 42 are foreigners.
The recovery of 368 patients was positive, 265 of whom were in the home care programme, while 103 were discharged from various hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries to 51,352.
In county distribution, Nairobi leads with 410 cases, followed by Mombasa 102, Migori 93, Bungoma 79, Uasin Gishu 55, Kiambu 42, Nakuru 40, Kilifi 39, Nyeri and Kisumu 30, Busia 28, Laikipia 27, Turkana 26, Machakos 25 and Meru 25, Kisii 24, Kajiado 21, Trans Nzoia 17, Kakamega and Nyamira 12, HomaBay 11, Siaya 9, Narok 8, Kitui 7, Embu 5, Nandi, Kwale, Murang'a, Kericho and Garissa 4, Taita Taveta and Lamu 3, Elgeyo Marakwet, Isiolo and Tana River 2, Wajir 1 and Makueni 1.
An important fact that we have asked for several times and we hope it can be communicated in the daily bulletins is that of the swabs carried out in every single County. With this data we would better understand the hiccups of areas that one day record very few cases and in the following 24 hours have many more.
