After the great attendance and success of the evening at Malaika in Malindi last Friday, the excellence of Italian extra virgin olive oil is 'on tour' this Monday in the capital Nairobi.
And it is a tour that not only exalts the flavours, traditions and the best production methods of a great Italian brand, ArteOlio, but also the vision of proposing quality and combining it with Italian art in general, proper to the Vinyasa importer. The Nairobi appointment is in one of the city's venues that has long espoused the philosophy of combining food and wine with Italian beauty, La Terrazza di Muriel e Stefano, at the Green House Mall in Ngong Road.
Special guests, in the name of ArteOlio, in an evening that combines oil tasting and a dinner with creative dishes that enhance its use, two great tenors of our country, Claudio Mattioli and Max Barbolini , who grew up in the Modenese school of Luciano Pavarotti, and one of the world's leading oil experts, Aldo Mazzini, EU chief-panelist and taster, author of numerous oil publications.
The decision to garnish the presentation of an Italian excellence with an evening that brings together culture, music and gourmet dishes is an opportunity not to be missed for the people of Nairobi, and also one more reason to get to know Vinyasa and its proposals, such as ArteOlio specifically. 'Experts say it is a masterpiece,' explain Vinyasa, speaking of ArteOlio.
'In fact, we Italians need to go back to the head: that is, to work on art. All of it. We once made the Sistine Chapel, we made wonders because there was vision, there was utopia, there was passion and the sacred fire of making'. Bottled just before Christmas, the olives picked and pressed in the days immediately preceding, ArteOlio arrived in Kenya by air at Christmas, like a desired Christmas gift. Obtained in Maremma, in the Tuscan countryside near Braccagni, it could be described as an Etruscan oil, the Etruscans were right there in those fields near Grosseto. A good 500 years before Christ, the mythical King Porsenna was already producing olive oil! Produced by ArteOlio.
The biggest olive oil investment in Italy in the last twenty years, and certified as one of the best in the world by one of the greatest Italian experts. Welcome aperitif from 6 p.m., then oil tasting followed by entertainment and dinner. (Kes. 3500 excluding drinks). For information and reservations, Tel. 0748101503
