Yesterday Kenya recorded 442 positive cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of cases in the country since last March to over 40 thousand.
During the Covid-19 daily briefing held in Eldoret, the Administrative Secretary of the Department, Rashid Aman, announced that 5,327 samples were analysed during the period in question, bringing the total number of samples analysed so far to 580,039.
Of the positive cases, 419 are Kenyan and 23 are of foreign nationality.
286 are male and 156 are female, ranging from 3 to 86 years old.
In the county distribution, Nakuru County leads with 94 cases followed by Nairobi (80) and Mombasa (47), Uasin Gishu (22), Embu (20), Kisumu (20), Turkana (18), Trans Nzoia (14), Meru (15), Kisii (13).
At the same time, 166 patients were discharged from the home care programme and national hospitals, bringing the total number of healings to 30,876.
Unfortunately, four patients lost their lives due to the disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 755.
Aman has pointed the finger at political rallies that are on the rise and risk frustrating the good results previously achieved in containing the disease.
"Please avoid all social and political gatherings, as well as wearing the mask and maintaining social distance," said the manager.
