Kenya on the slow curve to the spike

Three tv anchormen: "We have Covid-19"

22-07-2020 by redazione

Hospitals in the capital fill up, patients treated at home are declared cured en masse, the daily deaths are no longer one or two, but a dozen.
These are the signs of the so-called "curve" which, according to the World Health Organization and its acolytes, should bring Kenya to a peak towards the end of August.
In the meantime, Kenya's economy is (slowly) recovering and already on Friday it should be clear, as announced yesterday by malindikenya.net, what direction will be taken in the coming weeks.
In yesterday's bulletin sent by the Administrative Secretary of Health, Dr. Rashid Abdi Aman, 397 new Covid-19 virus positives were confirmed, of which 8 are foreigners, 236 male and 161 female. The cases were detected after testing 3397 samples, with an average just over 10%.
The total number of infections in the country has now risen to 14168.
Only 65 patients were released from hospital, while 587 were declared cured but were already being treated or under observation at home.
Unfortunately, another 12 patients lost their lives due to the disease, bringing the total number of deaths since 13 March to 250.
As always, Nairobi reports the highest number of cases, 239 or almost two thirds of the total, followed by Kiambu County, which is attached to Nairobi, Machakos County (idem) and others that register between 17 and 3 cases. In Kisii, Kisumu, Lamu and Nyandarua only one positive.
Yesterday was also the day of the "coming out" of famous Kenyan celebrities: after the premature death, at the age of 58, of Charles Bukeke (aka Pope Shirandula) one of the most famous actors in the country, the number one anchorman and journalist in Kenya, Jeff Koinange declared to be positive for the Coronavirus, and so did his colleagues Stephen Letoo and Bonnie Musambi, famous face of KBC.
"I'm positive but asymptomatic," said Koinange, "I'm already in quarantine and under observation at home.
