New record of Covid-19 positive cases for Kenya, with a rate of 16.9%.
Immediately after President Kenyatta sensitized the country and dictated the new restrictions until next January 3, the Ministry of Health released the daily bulletin of the data that see in the last 24 hours 1494 infections, a figure never reached before (the previous highest number was 1395 recorded last Saturday, October 31), out of a total of 8839 swabs analyzed.
In the same period, 586 patients were discharged, 413 from home care and 173 from various hospitals in the country, bringing the total number of recoveries to 38,381.
Currently, there are 1,313 patients admitted to various healthcare facilities throughout the country, while 5,005 are in isolation and home care.
Of the serious patients, 57 are in intensive care (ICU), 25 are intubated and 27 are in supplementary oxygen. A further 77 are hospitalised in other special wards, while 18 are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
In county distribution, yesterday Nairobi led with 414 cases, followed by Nakuru with 188, Mombasa 173, Kiambu 150, Uasin Gishu 107, Turkana 52, Kilifi 50, Garissa 35, Taita Taveta 35, Kajiado 31, Baringo 31, West Pokot 31, Laikipia 28, Kisumu 28, Murang'a 14, Machakos 13, Nyandarua 12, Siaya 12, Meru 12, Elgeyo Marakwet 11.
