This year's so-called "small rains" are very similar to the older sisters in May and June.
The abundant and continuous rainfall of these days, which began last Monday, if on the one hand they are breathing in arid areas that needed to be watered, for agriculture and breeding in particular in the world, on the other hand they are causing some discomfort in the roads of communication.
On the coast there are intense and abundant downpours that last several hours at night, and heavy rains that alternate with moments of lightening during the day. 
Mombasa has been practically flooded since last Tuesday, with access roads to entire districts not practicable and other inconveniences such as split trees and rural dwellings carried away by water and mud.
The situation is much better in Kilifi County, where from this morning a shy sun has also appeared, but meteorologists warn:"It will still rain a lot on the coast and in some areas of the north of the country".
We hope that, as often happens, there is little noise and that the rain is concentrated mainly at night, allowing the sun to dry up land and roads. In any case, the small rains, which introduce to the hot and dry season, are fundamental and therefore I welcome a little more water from the sky.
