There are 24 new cases of positive Covid-19 virus in Kenya in the last 24 hours, a negative record since the pandemic emergency in the country began. This record is due to the increase in swabs in a single day, which are now about 2000 every 24 hours. Yesterday there were 1925 to be precise and the cases increased to 435.
The Secretary of the Department of Health, Mercy Mwangangi, speaking at Afya House in the daily press conference, also announced that there has been a new death, a 51-year-old woman who was admitted to hospital last April 27 in serious condition.
Of the 24 new positives 10 are men, 14 are women.
"17 of them are from Nairobi, 7 cases are from Kawangware and 10 from Eastleigh. Five cases were discovered in Mombasa and two at the border with Tanzania," said Mwangangi, adding that there were two patients discharged, bringing the total number of healings to 152.
The positive data transmitted by the Kenyan Ministry of Health is related to hospital admissions for other diseases, which have decreased in this period. Mwangangi on behalf of the Ministry explained that the rules on home quarantine will soon be revised and that companies and premises that are quietly resuming their activities could be punished with the definitive withdrawal of licenses.
