Fantastic day in Mambrui for the Clean Up

Huge partecipation to the first initiative

18-01-2020 by Leni Frau

A really fantastic day in Mambrui, for the first Clean Up in the country north of Malindi.
The residents of Mambrui have shown that they care about their territory with at least the same passion as the "citizens", after having decided to imitate the monthly cleaning initiatives of the Malindi Green And Blue movement.
On Saturday morning they met at the entrance of the small village of Sub County Magarini, with the Deputy Chief of Police (OCS), environmental authorities, voluntary and youth associations, three schools including Mary's School founded by the Italian Raffaele Trolese, and the staff of the two reference resorts, Karibuni Villas and Kola Beach, whose owners, Jafar Kassam and Anonello Di Mauro and the organizers Denise Granata and Valerio Procopio, were present. Together with them, many citizens and residents, as well as holidaymakers and owners of houses in the seaside resort.
Present at the first Mambrui Clean Up the President of Progress Welfare Association Malindi Kate Mwikali, the head of the hoteliers' association Maureen Awuor, the Sub County Chief Administrator Assad Sheyumbe and Freddie del Curatolo of Malindi Green And Blue. An important day for the participation of many young students (including Nassir Said Birya, the little co-star of Checco Zalone's film "Tolo Tolo") and for the awareness that was made to the people of Mambrui who did not participate this time. The cleaning exercise ended with the inauguration of the two garbage bins donated by Karibuni Villas, Kola Beach and some private individuals, a solution that will start to allow an intelligent waste collection and hopefully will be supported equally by the institutions.
The hope now is that, as in Malindi, this constructive initiative will be repeated every month, every third Saturday of the month.
