Stop wearing face masks outdoor in Kenya

End of other restrictions from 12 march 2022

12-03-2022 by redazione

As we announced on Friday, March 11 talking about "short time" for the end of many restrictions related to the pandemic in Kenya, the next day comes the official statement of the Ministry of Health announcing the abolition of the mandatory use of face masks in all outdoor public spaces in the country.
The Minister Mutahi Kagwe announced it during a live broadcast on national television in which he read an official statement, then made to the agencies, concerning the revision of Covid-19 protocols in the country. It remains the obligation of masks indoors and social distances, unless in certain places, such as restaurants or even places of worship, people are all in possession of vaccination certificate.
So it's back to breathing (it is the case to say, especially in this period of great heat that unites Nairobi to the coast and other parts of Kenya) even if wearing a mask, as the minister himself reiterated, has never been a priority of Kenyan citizens.
Masks will no longer be compulsory even in cars between non-cohabitants and on public transport, where by law, however, passengers should be vaccinated with at least one dose, as on local planes.
"These measures can be revised at any time depending on the evolution of the pandemic situation - however, warned Kagwe - The police in any case are warned not to harass Kenyans on the review of these measures."
